BLOG 1: FIRST IMPRESSIONS
Hey, beautiful, welcome to my first ever blog!
I go by the name Minh, but some people call me Mimi or Minnie (so make yourself comfortable, gorgeous). I was born and raised in a s-shaped country called Vietnam. I spent all 12 of my childhood years there, until the day my parents decided to move to America. Not going to lie, it was VERY sudden for me; it took me a total of 2 years just to get out of my "comfort zone," a computer that used to be my main way of communicating with others. Who would have thought that the young timid girl would be a senior now (and yes, I am PROUD of myself).
SECRET TIME!! The school held me back one year, so I'll be 19 years old by the time I graduate (this is TOP SECRET), so I'm practically a young adult. Despite that, I don't act that mature compared to my age; at least that's what my sisters ALWAYS say. I was fortunate enough to be born into a lovely family with my parents, my precious baby cat and my two "not-too-lovely" sisters. We have a love-hate relationship that's hard to explain but it works out the majority of the time so I'm NOT complaining.
Some of my hobbies are reading, listening to music, watching movies, and cooking (but especially not the cleaning part). Also, I started to go to the gym not too long ago and it has been my favorite form of exercise. If you can't tell by now, I am OBSESSED with green. Every green theme object is a must; you'll probably be surprised by the amount of green objects I own.
FUN FACT: My current name is actually my middle name. The American name system switched my middle and first names around.
"Why do I choose this course over other AICE classes?"
You’re probably asking why I take this class. To be honest, I’m just as clueless as you are; however, my interest in music videos may have driven me to try this course. At such a young age, I have always been exposed to different forms of media, either television, phone or simply a flyer. Media has always been in my life, so in some aspects, I can say that I am unconsciously attracted to media.

As I grew a bit older, the K-pop culture spread to neighboring countries; Vietnam was also under its influence. K-pop groups are often popularized through their mesmerizing visuals and talents that have been captured through professional shots. Along with it are the captative editing skills that give the music video an elevated experience. 기도(I'll be your man) by BTOB is the song that brought me into the K-Pop world. The video utilizes various shot angles, unique lighting, and intentional scene organization that try to create depth to story. Therefore, through the context of this class, I wish to learn the editing and filming skills that are being implemented in one of my favorite music videos of all time. Additionally, I want to learn more about the meaning behind all the shot angles and video effects used to fully appreciate the video's message that the group worked so hard to create.
