BLOG 21: SUPPORTING CAST INSIGHTS

BLOG 21: SUPPORTING CAST INSIGHTS

Hey, sunshines🌞, Welcome back to my blog!

In today's blog, we will analyze the supporting character. We will elaborate on their physical characteristics, their associated props and how these are linked with their personality. We will also be going through their inner mind (let's all be psychologists today😉). With that being said, let's DIVE into today's content🏄🏻‍♀️🌊.

The only supporting character in this film's opener is Gigi's dad. His voice appeared to serve as the main conflict in this opener; there is no physical representation of Gigi's dad. Nonetheless, we've imagined him to be around 50 with a kind yet strict facial expression. He's the man with few words, who often expresses his love through ACTION rather than words. Similar to a middle-aged man, he can be instantly recognized by his thin hair with a "dad bod." More importantly, Gigi's dad is a sentimental man; the way he talks might sound a bit demanding but deep down he just wants the best thing for his loved ones. Additionally, the prop that is associated with him is Gigi's phone; this is where he (his voice) appears for the first time. He sounded apologetic about the sudden absence on Gigi's birthday; however, he promised to make it up to Gigi. This really shows how much he cares for her; although he was forced to be on a sudden business trip, he still remembers his precious daughter, who is alone back home.

The unfortunate incident, Gigi's mom passing (sorry for the spoiler 🥲), motivated him to work EXTRA hard to fill in the void that Gigi felt. Even if it is emotionally or financially, he put in lots of effort just so Gigi doesn't feel less loved. It was DEVASTATING for him to process his wife's death but being the only adult in the house, he has to be strong for Gigi to feel secure. Just to clarify, his absence was out of his control; the work came in suddenly, forcing him to miss his little girl's birthday that he had been so excited for. He must've left disappointed in himself as he had failed Gigi for the first time after his wife's death.
