BLOG 24: SOUNDWAVE STORIES

BLOG 24: SOUNDWAVE STORIES

Hey, beautiful🎀, welcome back to my blog!

Today I will take you backstage with us; you will witness our sound editing process (this is an ONCE in a lifetime opportunity🤭). Don't worry! I will elaborate in details on who's doing what. The software we used as well as explanations for every music choice. With that being said, let's START with today's content!! 👟🎽

There's definitely a learning curve in the sound editing process; unlike the video editing, we are all UNFAMILIAR with this department. Luckily, Little Miss Barbie volunteered to find music for the film opener; at first, she opted for some classical options. However, due to copyright issues, we have to go back and look into those that are copyright-free. While waiting for the music, me and Little Miss #2 took over the sound editing process. First, we started with the diegetic sound, as that is the only thing that is ready to edit. The diegetic sounds include the voicemail, the ruffle sound Gigi made after hearing the voicemail, her sigh, and her footstep. It was a bit TIRING, as when we filmed there were numerous background noises; hence, our team had to schedule another shooting day solely for the foleystage. It's difficult to match the motion with the sound but we figured out how eventually. So it was a SUCCESS⭐!!

Let's not forget to mention the platform that we used to edit. We used the same platform as the one we utilized for editing the film opener, CapCut. We thought it would be easier if we stuck to the same platform and we DID. They didn't pay me to promote but I think CapCut is the best free editing platform that you can ever find out there. They offer a wide range of features for the free version, and if you are willing to pay a tiny bit. You now have a professional editing platform; we are desperate for it but since we're still students, please DONATE so we can afford them (I'm just joking😝). Moreover, a few days went by, and Little Miss Barbie finally came back with a list of music selections. We picked out a few that fit the vibe of the film opener, and especially they ARE ALL copyright-free; however, I can't show them to you yet as it's still in progress🫣. Additionally, the only non-degentic sound we included was the background music. We wanted to include them to enhance the atmosphere as well as to prevent the emptiness from the awkward silence. So please stay tuned for the final result💖.
